Young Wrestlers
The struggles and triumphs of 26 teenagers who dream of being international wrestling champions, while facing the usual challenges of adolescence in Turkey.
Muhammed, Beytullah and Baran live in rural villages surrounding Amasya, a picturesque Anatolian city situated in a narrow mountain valley. They live together with 23 other teenagers, all aged 10-18 and from poor families, in the Wrestling Training Centre. The film focuses on the struggles, friendships and triumphs of these potential (inter)national champions, all living in a male dominated environment that contrasts greatly with contemporary Turkey.
