Spotlight on the Netherlands in Mexico

The Netherlands is this year's guest country at the Guanajuato International Film Festival in Mexico. The Festival offers a spotlight on the Netherlands with the best of Dutch cinema, music and culture. Special delegates from the Netherlands will offer conferences and workshops, as well as present the Dutch film industry.
More than 50 Dutch films will be presented in
Guanajuato. The Spotlight on the Netherlands programme contains various feature
films including Hemel by Sacha Polak, Kauwboy by Boudewijn Koole, Among Us by Marco van Geffen, and Can Go Through Skin by Esther Rots.

The festival also shows several short films from the Netherlands, such as And Then One Day by Heddy Honigmann and Noise by Jan Doense, documentaries that have had international success like Anton Corbijn Inside Out by Klaartje Quirijns and Meet the Fokkens by Rob Schröder and Gabriëlle Provaas, and award-winning animated films, for example Monster of Nix by Rosto and Get Real! by Evert de Beijer. Additionally the Dutch programme includes experimental films and films made by (former) students of the Netherlands Film and Television Academy.
Besides the film directors present at Guanajuato IFF, the Dutch film industry will be represented by a select group of Dutch film producers from Waterland Film, Lemming Film, CTM LEV Pictures, as well as delegates from institutes such as EYE Film Institute Netherlands, Netherlands Institute for Animation Film, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Netherlands Film Festival, International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, Cinekid and Cinedans.
