Three Dutch (co-)productions on EFA list

20 August 2019

The European Film Academy and EFA Productions have announced the list of feature films selected for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2019. The list includes one Dutch film and two minority Dutch co-productions.

The films from the Netherlands that have been selected are Dirty God by Sacha Polak (prod: Viking Film) and the minority co-productions A Tale of Three Sisters by Emin Alper (NL Co-prod: Circe Films) and Adrian Panek's Werewolf (NL Co-prod: House of Netherhorror).

With a total of 46 films from 31 European countries the list of selections shows the large diversity of European cinema. The films have been selected by a committee consisting of members of the EFA-board and experts Giorgio Gosetti (festival programmer, Italy), Kathrin Kohlstedde (festival programmer, Germany), Paz Lazaro (festival programmer, Spain), Mary Nazari (exhibitor, Russia), Edvinas Pukšta (festival programmer, Latvia) and Agathe Valentin (sales agent, France).

In the following weeks more than 3600 members of the European Film Academy will choose the nominees in the categories of Best European Film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Screenwriter. The nominees will be announced on 9 November during the Sevilla European Film Festival in Spain. A jury of 8 people will decide about the nominees in the categories of Best European Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Costume Design, Hair & Make-up, Original Score, Sound Design and Visual Effects.

The 32nd European Film Awards ceremony will take place on the 7 December in Berlin.
