THOSE WHO FEEL THE FIRE BURNING at IDFA

11 November 2015

Dutch Oscar® Doc entry Those Who Feel the Fire Burning earns rare repeat screening at IDFA

Morgan Knibbe’s feature-length debut THOSE WHO FEEL THE FIRE BURNING had its world premiere at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) in 2014 and was nominated for best documentary in the IDFA International Competition.

Thereafter followed a 12 month tour of over 40 international festivals, including Hot Docs, Oslo (Doc:South Winner), Milan, True/False Film Fest, Melbourne and Guanajuato (Winner Best Documentary) right up until last week, when the film was nominated for the Audience Award at AFI Fest in Los Angeles where it screened in the Breakout section.

The film will receive a rare homecoming reprise screening at IDFA which follows its recent double Golden Calf win for both Best feature Documentary  and Best Sound Design at the Dutch National Awards in September.

The urgency and topicality of the film has increased exponentially along with the flow of refugees into Europe which the film depicts in an unconventional, poetic form. Due to the current situation of refugees across the EU, the film was screened in September for both the European Parliament in Brussels and the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

Don’t miss this chance to see the beautiful and harrowing film at IDFA 2015!
