The Zigzag Kid nominee Young Audience Award

Dutch family film The Zigzag Kid by director Vincent Bal and produced by BosBros is nominated for the 2013 EFA Young Audience Award. The other two contenders are The Suicide Shop by Patrice Leconte (France) and Bernd Sahling’s (Germany).
On May 5, Young Audience Film Day, the three nominated films will be screened to an audience of 12-14 year olds in eight European cities. Afterwards the audience in each city votes for the winner, which is streamed live online.
The Zigzag Kid recently received the Audience Award at the Montreal International Children’s Film Festival – FIFEM and was screened at among others the Berlin International Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.
The Zigzag Kid is about 13-year-old Nono who meets master-burglar Felix on a train ride . While they commit a couple of crimes together and the police starts chasing them, Nono discovers the true story about his father and his deceased mother. And also a lot about himself....
In 2012 the EFA Young Audience Award was organized and presented for the first time. The winner was another Dutch film, Kauwboy by Boudewijn Koole.
