The Paradise Suite Opening Film Chicago

Dutch feature The Paradise Suite by Joost van Ginkel, produced by PRPL and Bastide Films, will open the 19th Annual Chicago European Union Film Festival.
The upcoming edition of the annual Chicago European Union Film Festival takes place at the Gene Siskel Film Center. During the festival the audience can experience the creativity and vibrant cultures of all twenty-eight EU nations. Chicago premieres of 62 new features distinguish this largest showcase in North America for cinema from European Union nations.
According to the tradition of the festival, the opening night is presided over by the nation currently holding the presidency of the European Union. The opening on Friday, March 4 is hosted by the Consul General of The Netherlands Klaas van der Tempel. Special guest of the festival is Issaka Sawadogo one of the main actors of The Paradise Suite. The film was the Netherlands' official entry to the Academy Award for the Best Foreign Language and tells the story of how the lives of six people, who seem to have nothing more in common than
their faraway homelands, become inextricably linked in Amsterdam, the
city they have chosen as their new home.
