Stray Dogs of Talad Noi
Over 5 years, Gerard Holthuis filmed the people around the River View Guest House in Talad Noi, Bangkok.
Kai, a single mother of four, works around the clock at the River View Guest House. She makes ends meet by collecting junk for recycling. Aa, a handy-man at the hostel, spends his spare time assisting a Monk collecting alms. They share an affection for the stray dogs and cats of the neighbourhood, which they feed by collecting leftover food in a way not unlike how they provide for themselves, living off charitable gifts.
