Schneider vs Bax in Competition Locarno

15 July, 2015

Dutch feature Schneider vs. Bax by world renowned director Alex van Warmerdam (Borgman, The Dress) will have its international premiere at the 68th edition of the Locarno Film Festival. The film is selected for the Main Competition, Concorso Internazionale.

Schneider vs. Bax is Van Warmerdam's ninth feature. His previous film Borgman screened in Competition at the Cannes International Film Festival 2013.
Schneider vs. Bax is produced by Graniet Film, in co-production with Czar Film (Belgium), VARA and Mollywood, and is made with the support of among others the Netherlands Film Fund.
Fortissimo Films is handling worldwide rights outside the Benelux (handled by Cinéart).

The story of Schneider vs. Bax revolves around two men, a contract killer and a writer, battling each other for survival. Schneider, the contract killer and a devoted family man, is offered a rush job in the morning of his birthday to liquidate Ramon Bax. Bax is a 50 year old writer living in his secluded cabin by the lake. What seems to be a simple assignment turns out to be much more than Schneider ever expected...

The 68th edition of the Locarno Film festival takes place 5 - 15 August.
