Painkillers golden film

Painkillers has reached the status of Golden Film for 100.000 tickets sold since the release in national cinemas on September 25.
Painkillers is director Tessa Schram's first feature film. She wrote the script together with Maria Peters. The films is produced by Shooting Star Filmcompany and international sales are handled by Mountain Road Entertainment Group
Painkillers is about Casper, who lives with his mother and doesn't know his father. He loves playing the piano and he is happy when he is accepted into the youth orchestra. Especially when he becomes friends with orchestra member Anouk who knows what he's going through when he suddenly discovers his mother has cancer. Casper and his best friend Pim decide to look for his father.
The Golden/Platinum/Diamond Film Award is an initiative presented by the Netherlands Film Festival and the Netherlands Film Fund since 2001. The prize is intended to encourage the Dutch film industry and motivate the general public to go and see Dutch films. The total number of admissions (resp. 100.000, 400.000, 1.000.000) determines whether a prize is awarded. Films that reach the Golden Film status in the period of September 1 2014 till September 1 2015 will be eligible for the Golden Calf UPC Audience Award at the Netherlands Film Festival 2014.
