Marlon Brando wins in Leuven
Vincent Tilanus' short film Marlon
Brando*), produced by Room For Film, was awarded the Peer Award at the
Leuven International Short Film Festival last Saturday. The Peer Award is a new
addition to the European Short Film Competition awards at the festival and was
awarded for the first time this year. The jury of the film consists of all the
directors of the films that have been nominated for the European Short Film Competition.
Furthermore Marlon Brando was also nominated for the European Film Awards 2021 by the jury of the European Competition. The jury, consisting of directors Barnabas Toth and Wendy Pillonel and festival programmer Maarten Alexander, states that they were convinced by the positivity, sensitivity and strong dialogues of the film.
The International Short Film Festival Leuven, which has been taking place at Art Center STUK since 2002 screens over 200 short films from around the world every year and is an EFA qualifying festival since 2017. This year the festival took place online.
