Marleen Slot is Producer on the Move

Marleen Slot of Viking Film will represent the Netherlands as Dutch Producer on the Move at the upcoming edition of the Cannes International Film Festival (May 15 - 26). The Producers on the Move
programme, organised by European Film Promotion (EFP), is now in its
14th year at the Cannes International Film Festival. During four days
(May 18 - 21), 29 talented and up-and-coming European producers, who
have been selected by their national EFP member organizations, are put
into the spotlight and brought together with international film
professionals and press at this important film event.
Viking Film
is the Amsterdam based film production company founded in 2011 by
Marleen Slot. International in scope, Viking Film wants to make
high-quality films for both Dutch and international audiences with a
special focus on arthouse, children films and animation films. Viking
Film wants to be cross-border and intends to enter into cooperation with
producers and makers from Europe, Latin America and Asia.
At this moment Viking Film is working on several films like Zurich
from director Sacha Polak (selected for Berlinale Residency 2012).
Besides that Viking Film recently finished two films: the short
animation film Goodbye Mister De Vries (Mascha Halberstad) and the co-production Leones
(selected for Venice Film Festival 2012) by Argentine director Jazmín
López. Marleen worked as a producer at Lemming Film for many years. Her
productions at Lemming Film include the feature films Tony 10 (Mischa Kamp), Taking Chances (Nicole van Kilsdonk, opening film Cinekid 2011, selection Berlinale K+ 2012), Snackbar (selection Berlinale 14+, 2012), My Joy (Sergei Loznitsa, competition Cannes Film Festival 2010), Oxygen (Hans van Nuffelen, European Film Academy Discovery Award) and Vivan las Antipodas! (Victor Kossakovsky, opening film Venice Film Festival 2011).
