lonely bones wins grand prix in ottawa
Lonely Bones, made by filmmaker/artist Rosto has won the Grand Prix at the Ottawa International Animation Festival. The jury awarded the film “for its engrossing, immersive, dreamlike experience”. Earlier this year, the music of Lonely Bones was awarded at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival 2013.
Lonely Bones is a surreal and sinister film about a one-eyed man who makes his escape from a hotel room, entering a hellish world where time and space intertwine, with rock and roll music by Rosto’s Thee Wreckers, a virtual band with demonic members who don’t grow old and always show up.
Rosto (The Monster of Nix) uses different techniques: live action, 2D en 3D animation. Lonely Bones is the second short of a tetralog. The first was No Place like Home.
