Dutch feature Lessons in Love
directed by Antoinette Beumer, has already reached the status of Golden
Film for 100.000 tickets sold. The film is screening at 124 cinemas in the Netherlands since December 12. Lessons in Love
is written by Marjolein Beumer and produced by KeyFilm (NL) and Millstreet Films (NL).
Lessons in Love is a romantic comedy about Soof, who is approaching her forties and has all she ever dreamed of: wonderful kids, a small catering company and a great husband in Kasper. But the transformation of her garden house begins to take its toll. And then she meets the divine choreographer Jim. Suddenly Soof begins to wonder if Kasper really is the fiercely attractive man she fell in love with. The more she tries to get a grip on her life, the more it seems to derail.
The Golden/Platinum/Diamond Film Award is an initiative presented by the Netherlands Film Festival and the Netherlands Film Fund since 2001. The prize is intended to encourage the Dutch film industry and motivate the general public to go and see Dutch films. The total number ofadmissions (resp. 100.000, 400.000, 1.000.000) determines whether a prize is awarded. Films that reach the Golden Film status in the period of September 1 2013 till September 1 2014 will be eligible for the Golden Calf Audience Award at the Netherlands Film Festival 2014.
