Coming-of-age film about Karsu Dönmez, star singer from Amsterdam who was discovered playing piano in her parents’ restaurant.
Karsu is a talented jazz singer who, until her 18th birthday, was forced to help out in her Amsterdam-based family restaurant. But she was determined to find her own path and eventually became a star in the Turkish scene, singing regularly in the family restaurant. When she was discovered by music professionals she became a true star, and continued to pave her own way throughout 2010. Still living with her parents, she finally tries to break free from her family and culture.
