Instinct nominated for EFA European Discovery

Instinct by Halina Reijn is nominated for the European Discovery - Prix FIPRESCI, an award presented annually as part of the European Film Awards to a director for a first full-length feature film.
Instinct world premiered at Locarno 2019 where it won the Variety Piazza Grande Award and Special Mention Best First Feature, and was subsequently selected for numerous other festivals, including Toronto, BFI London, Chicago, Palm Springs, Miami, Les Arcs and Kolkata.

The European Film Academy and EFA Productions, in a virtual event presented jointly with the Seville European Film Festival on 10 November, also announced the nominations for the other categories of the 33rd European Film Awards.

Dutch minority co-production Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg and co-produced by Topkapi Films is nominated for European Film, European Director, European Screenwriter and European Actor.

Berlin-Alexanderplatz by Burhan Qurbani, which is minority co-produced by the Netherlands-based Lemming Film, received nominations for European Film and European Screenwriter.

The 33rd European Film Awards will take place as a virtual ceremony without an audience, broadcast and streamed from the European Film Academy's seat, Berlin, on Saturday, 12 December 2020.
