IN YOUR NAME selected for Cannes L’Atelier

March 16, 2012

IN YOUR NAME, director Marco van Geffen's second feature film, is selected for Cannes L’Atelier 2012.

In total fifteen feature film projects from 14 countries have been selected for the 8th Cinéfondation Atelier at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival. L’Atelier has been created in 2005 to help emerging and confirmed filmmakers to complete financing for their film. During L’Atelier (18 – 25 May) the directors of the selected projects and their producers will have the opportunity to meet with film professionals and try to get their new films financed.

IN YOUR NAME tells the story of a couple that used to be perfectly happy. But when their firstborn died, nothing suddenly seemed as it was: where she tried to be strong, he started seeing her strength as a denial of his grief, of his loss, of his very being.
The film is the second part of Marco van Geffen’s trilogy of family dramas. AMONG US, the first part, had its world premiere last year in competition at the Locarno Film Festival.
IN YOUR NAME is produced by Lemming Film. The script is written by Jolein Laarman and Van Geffen. The shoot of the film is planned for the end of 2012. France based Elle Driver is handling the international sales.
