Fight Girl nominee Young Audience Award

February 22, 2019

Dutch feature film Fight Girl by director Johan Timmers (produced by The Film Kitchen) is nominated for the 8th European Film Academy Young Audience Award.

On May 5 Fight Girl and the other two nominated films will be screened in 55 cities in 34 countries for a young audience (12 to 14-year-olds). The kids will act as jury, voting for the winner right after the screenings. Jury speakers then transmit the national results live via video conference to Erfurt (Germany) where the winner is announced in an award ceremony streamed live on www.yaa.europeanfilmawards.eu.

Fight Girl had its world premiere at the Netherlands Film Festival in September and won both the Jury Award for Best Dutch Family Film and Audience Award for Best Dutch Family Film at the Cinekid Film Festival in Amsterdam. The film is set to travel abroad and is selected for among others the upcoming edition of the BUFF International Film Festival in Malmö.

The other nominees for the EFA Young Audience Award are Los Bando by Christian Lo (Norway) and Old Boys by Toby MacDonald (Great Britain).
