Exotic Pictures wins ARTE prize at APM at Busan FF

Exotic Pictures (working title), written and directed by both Edwin (Babibutafilm) and Marco van Geffen (Lemming Film) has won the ARTE International Prize at the Asian Project Market of the Busan International Film Festival held from 3-12 October 2013.

Exotic Pictures explores the long suppressed history between the Dutch and the Indonesians through war, sex, desire and betrayal by telling the story of Anne and Jan, a Dutch couple living in Bali between 1940 until the late '50s.

Marco van Geffen has written many screenplays among which are: Total Loss (2000) Tiger Award, Schnitzel Paradise (2005) Best Screenplay at the Skip City International D-Cinema Festival,  Secret Letter (2010). He successfully combined  writing and directing in Among Us (2011) CICAE Award , Valentino (2013), In Your Name (2014) ARTE Prize for Best Project.  Recently Lemming Film has been broadening its international scope by initiating co-productions  with the Asian market. Exotic Pictures will be shot on location in Indonesia and Holland.

The prize, given by ARTE France, consists of € 6.000 euros to be used for development and funding.
