Dutch youth films win at LUCAS

During the award ceremony of the LUCAS International Children's Film Festival on Sunday September 28 most of the prizes went to the Netherlands.
Boys by Mischa Kamp won the Youth Jury's Award for Best Film for Young People and the Audience Award went to Mister Twister Goes Camping by Barbara Bredero. The ECFA-Jury Award for Best European Film went to Scrap Wood War by Marien Rogaar.

LUCAS is the oldest youth film festival of Germany. The 37th edition took place September 21 - 28. On top of the above mentioned feature films a number of short films from the Netherlands were screened. The Short Film Competition included the documentary New by Eefje Blankevoort and the Dutch minority co-production Nesma's Birds by the Iraki filmmakers Najwam Ali and Medoo Ali. The short Pony Place by Joost Reijmers was part of the Opening Programme and Johan Timmers' Salãm was presented in the section Focus Migration - Dream or Nightmare.
