Dutch youth films off to Toronto

Once again a large number of youth films from the Netherlands have been selected for a prestigious international film festival. No less than 9 Dutch films will be screened at the TIFF Kids International Film Festival (formerly Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival for Children and Youth). TIFF Kids offers film programming for ages 3 through 13 and takes place April 10 - 22.

The main programme of the festival includes the feature films ALFIE THE LITTLE WEREWOLF directed by Joram Lürsen and written by Tamara Bos, COOL KIDS DON’T CRY directed by Dennis Bots and written by Karen van Holst Pellekaan, STAY! directed by Lourens Blok and written by Mirjam Oomkes and Willemine van der Wieland, and TONY 10 directed by Mischa Kamp and written by Mieke de Jong.

Selected for the school programme are the short documentaries ONE-WAY TICKET TO BUSSUM directed by Renée Wilna Span, A DRESS FOR ANUSCHKA by Annelies Kruk, MINA MOES by Mirjam de With and THROUGH ELLEN’S EARS from director Saskia Gubbels.

Part of the programme Reel Rascals Shorts: Movin' and Groovin'! is THE ADVENTURES OF PIM & POM: THE DANCE PARTY, an animated short directed by Gioia Smid and based on the illustrations of Fiep Westendorp and stories and poems written by Mies Bouhuys.
