Dutch youth films at Zlín

As in previous years, Dutch youth cinema is once again very well represented at the upcoming Zlín Film Festival. No less than ten films from the Netherlands have been selected for the 60th International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Czech Republic.

German/Dutch/Polish co-production Sunburned*) by Carolina Hellsgård, is selected for Zlin's International Competition of Feature Films for Youth.

Blind Date*) by Camiel Schouwenaar is presented in the International Competition of Short Animated Films for Children.

Three short films are part of Zlin Dog - International Competition of Student Films: the award-winning animated short PolarBarry - Let's Break the Ice!! - Vlog #207 by Wouter Dijkstra, Shalky by Lance Hossein Tangestani and Emma Branderhorst's graduation film Under the Skin which celebrated its international premiere in Berlinale's Generation competition earlier this year.

Zlin Film Festival's Panorama section includes several Dutch the feature films:
Little Crumb and the Race to the Gold Mine*) by Diede in ‘t Veld, The Club of Ugly Children*) by Jonathan Elbers and the international premiere of Jackie & Oopjen*) by Annemarie van de Mond.

The 2020: Back to the Future programme, which aims to broaden the horizons of young visitors in the area of science and technology, includes to Dutch films that have been quite successful in the festival circuit in recent years: Boy 7*) by Lourens Blok and feature documentary More Human than Human*) by Tommy Pallotta and Femke Wolting.
