Dutch films tour the Balkans

September 9

After the succes in the past two years, Public Room (Macedonia) organises for the third time a large Dutch film programme that travels through different countries in the Balkans: Highlights of the Lowlands – Touring Dutch Cinema.

The tour starts in Albania (September 14 – 19) and will then stop at various cities: Tirana, Skopje, Prizren, Sarajevo, Belgrade and Zadar. Early 2012 the film programme will also be presented in Istanbul, anticipating the celebration of 400 years of diplomatic relations between Turkey and the Netherlands.

This year the theme of Highlights of the Lowlands – Touring Dutch Cinema is ‘Water’, and the programme includes among others the films: AND THE SEA WAS NO MORE by Bert Haanstra, THE HELL OF ’63 by Steven de Jong, WISTFUL WILDERNESS by Digna Sinke, CAT AND MICE by Nova van Dijk and DIRKJAN RULES! BY Remco Polman and Wilfred Ottenheijm.
