Dutch films at Cinequest
18 March 2021
Three Dutch (co-)productions have been selected for the Cinequest Film and VR Festival in San Jose (California). The Festival takes place online and kicks off March 20.
The films from the Netherlands screening at Cinequest are:
Hidden in the Spotlight by director Jelle Nesna and produced by Rinkel Film.
The film tells the story of succesful singer Sonne, who takes in her niece after her sister's death, but then the biological father claims custody, leading to horrendous family revelations in court.
Ink by Erik Verkerk and Joost van den Bosch, produced by Ka-Ching Cartoons.
Ink is a hilarious 2D & 3D animated short film, in which a clean-up neat-freak octopus uses all of his tentacles in trying to reach what he's aiming for.
My Dad is a Sausage by Anouk Fortunier (BE) and co-produced by The Film Kitchen (NL).
In this Belgian-Dutch co-production, which is world premiering at Cinequest, Zoë (12) is her dad's best friend. When, on a whim, he decides to give up his job as a banker to become an actor, he gets into a big fight with her mum. But Zoë believes in her dad, even if nobody else does, and vows to help him in every way she can...
