Dutch Features win at Cinekid

The latest edition of Cinekid was concluded last Friday October 17th, with a festive awards ceremony.

Opening film of the festival, Life According to Nino by Simone van Dusseldorp and produced by Family Affair Films and Waterland Film, won the Cinekid Lion Jury Award for Best Children's Feature Film within the international competition, worth €15.000,-.

Boys by Mischa Kamp and produced by Pupkin Film received the Cinekid Lion Jury Award for best Dutch Family Film, worth €7.500,-. Mischa Kamp's Boys has already won several international awards this year, among which the Audience Award for best feature film and the Children's Jury Main Prize for best feature film at the Zlin International Film Festival for Children and Youth, and recently the Youth Jury Award for Best Film at the Frankfurt International Children's Film Festival - LUCAS.

Mark de Cloe's feature film Rhubarb produced by NL Film & TV went home with the Cinekid Lion Audience Award for best Dutch Family Film.

The 28th edition of Cinekid took place from October 11th until October 18th. Cinekid is one of the largest international children's film, television and new media festivals, held in October in Amsterdam, including festival activities in approximately 30 other locations in The Netherlands. It also includes Cinekid for Professionals, a section for the international children's media industry, including a co-production market (film, TV and cross media projects), a digital videolibrary and an extensive conference and meeting programme.
