May 11, 2012
Dutch actress Emma Levie has landed a role in the film SNOW PIERCER. Levie received various international awards last year for her debuting role in the film LENA (directed by Christoph van Rompaay) for Best Actress.
Levie will star alongside big names like Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Chris Evans, Ewen Bremner, Octavia Spencer and Jamie Bell. SNOW PIERCER will be directed by the South Korean director Joon-ho Bong and produced by Stillking Films. Emma Levie plays the role of Claude, the lover of the leader of the train travelers.
SNOW PIERCER is an adaptation of the 1970s French graphic novel from Le Transperceneige. The story is set in the future, when the world has entered a new Ice Age, due to a failed experiment to stop global warming. All living creatures have been killed, except for the passengers of a train, the Snow Piercer, who struggle to survive within an evolving class system.
Shooting of the movie has started in Prague last week. SNOW PIERCER is expected to hit the US theaters in 2013.
