BORGMAN on longlist European Film Awards
Alex van Warmerdam´s Borgman is one of the 46 films from Europe that have been selected for the 26th European Film Awards. The European Film Academy and EFA Productions have announced the titles of the 46 films that can be nominated for the European Film Award 2013. Coming from 32 countries the list of films illustrates the diversity of European cinema. Except for Borgman, the Netherlands are also represented by actress Sylvia Hoeks for her role in The Best Offer.
In the 20 countries with the most EFA Members, these members have voted one national film directly into the selection list. To complete the list, a Selection Committee consisting of EFA Board Members and invited experts Pierre-Henri Deleau (festival expert, France), Jonas Holmberg (Gothenburg IFF, Sweden), Stefan Kitanov (Sofia IFF, Bulgaria), Paz Lázaro (Berlin IFF, Spain), Derek Malcolm (film critic, UK), and Elma Tataragic (Sarajevo FF, Bosnia & Herzegovina) has included further films.
In the coming weeks, the 2,900 members of the European Film Academy will vote for the nominations in the categories European Film, Director, Actor, Actress and Screenwriter. The nominations will be announced on November 9, at the Sevilla European Film Festival in Spain. A 7-member jury will decide upon the awards recipients in the categories European Cinematographer, Editor, Production Designer, Costume Designer, Composer and Sound Designer.
The 26th European Film Awards with the presentation of the winners will take place in Berlin on December 7.
