Dutch feature film ALFIE THE LITTLE WEREWOLF, directed byJoram Lürsen, has reached the status of Golden Film for more than 100.000 tickets sold, since its theatrical release in the Netherlands on November 30, 2011.
In the youth film ALFIE THE LITTLE WEREWOLF a boy has no idea what is happening to him when he turns into a werewolf on his 7th birthday. So he jumps from his bedroom window and runs through the park, chasing ducks and chickens. When daylight comes, he returns home, and wakes up as Alfie again. His foster brother Timmie thinks it’s awesome, but Alfie doesn’t want to be a werewolf. He’s afraid his foster parents won’t want him anymore. Alfie wants to keep his secret whatever it takes…
The Golden/Platinum/Diamond Film Award is an initiative presented by the Netherlands Film Festival and the Netherlands Film Fund since 2001. The prize is intended to encourage the Dutch film industry and motivate the general public to go and see Dutch films. The total number of tickets sold after a film’s release determines whether a prize is awarded.
ALFIE THE LITTLE WEREWOLF is produced by BosBros. Delphis Films holds the international rights. The film is distributed in the Netherlands by Benelux Film Distributors and is showing on 131 screens at the moment.
