ROMY'S SALON wins at Giffoni Film Fest
25 July 2019
The Dutch children's feature film ROMY'S SALON directed by Mischa Kamp and produced by BosBros won the award for the most tenacious film at the Giffoni International Film Festival, which took place from July 19th until July 27th.
The festival is one of the most well-known children's film festivals in the world and introduced this year the brand new Consorzio Gragnano Città della pasta Special Award for “the most tenacious film”. The choice has fallen to Romy's Salon, which competed in the festival's Elements+10 category. The festival communicated that the motivation behind the award lies in the protagonist’s ability to face adversity and never give up, to manage to put up with difficult daily cohabitation, to tenaciously put love above all things.
Romy's Salon screened at multiple children's film festivals earlier this year, among others the Zlin International Film Festival for Children and Youth, Kristiansand International Children's Film Festival - Barnefilmfestivalen, Warsaw Kids Film Festival - Cinema in Sneakers and the Tel Aviv International Children's Film Festival.
And the list of awards for the film keeps on growing:

Romy's Salon tells the story of 10-year old Romy. She dislikes having to go to her grandmother's hair salon after school, but it turns out that her grandmother really needs Romy's help.
Romy’s mother has to work a lot. That’s why Romy goes to her grandmother every day after school. If you think that sounds like fun, then you’re wrong, because Grandma Stine is very busy working in her hairdressing salon, and is very strict. But everything changes when Romy discovers a totally different side to her grannie’s character.
