Centre Pompidou in Paris presents in collaboration with the Institut Néerlandais, a large retrospective of Dutch documentary filmmaker Heddy Honigmann, from 5 - 17 November.
In fifteen program elements a wide selection of works by Heddy Honigmann will be shown, from the first film she made in the Netherlands, THE FIRE (1981), to her most recent film, AND ONE DAY… (2011). In addition, three films by other filmmakers chosen by Honigmann will be screened.
The filmmaker will also be present in Paris during the retrospective. She will give a master class for students and will attend special screenings of her films GOODBYE (1995) and AND ONE DAY… (2011).
Honigmann has strong ties with France and especially Paris. She lived there before they settled in The Netherlands in 1978 and her documentaries are regularly screened and awarded in the French capital. One of her recent films, FOREVER (2006) is devoted to a Paris monument, the legendary Père Lachaise cemetery.
The retrospective at Centre Pompidou is the largest ever dedicated to Heddy Honigmann in France and confirms her status as one of the leading filmmakers of our time.
