Dutch feature film The Last Days of Emma Blank selected by Venice Days 2009

The Dutch feature film The Last Days of Emma Blank by director Alex van Warmerdam, with actors Marlies Heuer, Gène Bervoets, Eva van de Wijdeven, Annet Malherbe, Gijs Naber and Alex van Warmerdam himself in the leading roles, is selected by Venice Days, the parallel program of the Venice International Film Festival. Venice Days will take place from 3-12 September 2009.

Previously, two feature films by Alex van Warmerdam screened in Venice: in 1996 The Dress was awarded the FIPRESCI Prize and Abel was selected by the festival in 1986.

In The Last Days of Emma Blank  sick Emma Blank is cared for by her personnel. Despite her need for loving care, Emma is a steely, avaricious dictator whose demands become ever more absurd...

The Last Days of Emma Blank is produced by Graniet Film in co-production with La Parti in Belgium. Sales is handled by Fortissimo Films. In the Netherlands The Last Days of Emma Blank is released by A-Film Quality.
