Awards at Zlin and Transilvania

At the 50th Zlin International Film Festival for Children and Youth, the Ecumenical Jury awarded its prize in the International Competition of Feature Films for Children to the family film THE INDIAN.
THE INDIAN (2009) is directed by Ineke Houtman, produced by BosBros. Film-TV Productions in coproduction with Lemming Film and the VPRO. Sales agent is Delphis Films.
THE INDIAN was selected for a.o. Cinekid and Malmö International Children's and Young People's Film Festival-BUFF. Koos (a little boy of almost eight) very much wants to look like his impressive, typically Dutch father, which is not an easy thing, as Koos has been adopted from Peru and is rather small and of dark complexion. One day he sees a Peruvian boy playing a strange kind of music outside the supermarket and discovers that he, like the boy, is of Indian origin. From that day on, despite his Dutch parents, he tries his very best to be a true Indian...

At the 9th Transilvania International Film Festival the Special Jury Prize, in value of 1500 euro, was awarded to the feature LAST CONVERSATION (2009), directed by Noud Heerkens and produced by Holland Harbour Productions. LAST CONVERSATION premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2009 and screened in competition at the Moscow International Film Festival and was shown at the Variety Critics' Choice programme of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
LAST CONVERSATION was shot in a single take with 25 camera's attached to the exterior of a driving car. The film is about Anne, a lawyer in her mid forties, who sits behind the wheel and who receives a call from her lover, who has just ended their relationship.

The Romanian Days Award for Short Film, in value of 1500 euro, was awarded to COLIVIA / THE CAGE. COLIVIA / THE CAGE is a co-production between the Romanian 4Proof Film and Kaliber Film from Rotterdam. The film is part of the feature film DOMESTIC which is in development. COLIVIA / THE CAGE previously won the DAAD Short Film Award at the Berlinale.
COLIVIA / THE CAGE is a short story about the relationship between a father and his son. When Mihaes's little boy brings home a sick dove this raises new conflicts between them, but also a possible reconciliation.
