Buitenkampers, the color of survival profiles the Indo-European children who, because of their mixed blood, lived outside the Japanese camps with their mothers but received no protection against the young Indonesian freedom fighters. The Indo-Europeans were regarded as collaborators with the white, Dutch colonialists and were subsequently regarded as easy targets for the young rebels during the War of Independence.
The Crystal Film is a prize for Dutch documentaries for more than 10.000 tickets sold.
