MY GRANDPA THE BANKROBBER GOLDEN FILM

Dutch feature film MY GRANDPA THE BANKROBBER, directed by Ineke Houtman, has reached the status of Golden Film for more than 100.000 tickets sold, since its theatrical release in the Netherlands on February 9, 2011.

In MY GRANDPA THE BANKROBBER Grace wants to find out about her biological father that she never knew. Her grandpa is the only one who can help. She convinces him to use his savings to travel with her, but the family blocks his bank account...

The Golden/Platinum/Diamond Film Award is awarded when the number of tickets sold after a film’s release is 100.000, 400.000, and 1.000.000 respectively. The prize is an initiative presented by the Netherlands Film Festival  and the Netherlands Film Fund since 2001 and is intended to encourage the Dutch film industry and motivate the general public to go and see Dutch films.

MY GRANDPA THE BANKROBBER is produced by Lemming Film. The film is distributed in the Netherlands by A-Film Distribution. Delphis Films handles the international sales.
