Golden Film for Spy of Orange

Dutch feature film Spy of Orange receives Golden Film for over 100.000 tickets sold

The Dutch action comedy Spy of Orange, by Tim Oliehoek, has been awarded a Golden Film for over 100.000 visitors since it’s release on February 5, 2009.

The Golden Film is an initiative presented by the Netherlands Film Festival and the Netherlands Film Fund since 2001. The prizes are intended to encourage the Dutch film industry and motivate the general public to go and see Dutch films. The total number of tickets sold after a film's release determines whether a prize is awarded. The Golden Films are awarded to Dutch full length feature-films and is handed out when a film has drawn in more than 100.000 visitors.

In Spy of Orange the Netherlands is threatened by the terrorist twin brother of the clumsy couturier François van Vliet. François and the secret agents Mustafa and Lena are the only ones who are able to stop the threat. National famous actors Paul de Leeuw, Najib Amhali, Jennifer Hoffman, Nelly Frijda, Fred Goessens, Hans Kesting and Plien van Bennekom are playing the leading roles in the comic feature film.

Spy of Orange is produced by Fu Works and IDTV Film in co-production with In-Soo Productions, A Private View (Belgium) and the VARA. A-Film Entertainment provides the theatrical distribution. Spy of Orange is currently running in 107 theatres in the Netherlands.
