Dutch docs are scoring at Nyon and Toronto

As many as 15 documentary from the Netherland have been selected to screen at the film festivals Visions du Réel in Switzerland and Hot Docs in Canada. Both festivals are among the top of international documentary festivals and are selecting documentaries from the highest level.

Visions du Réel selected Babaji, An Indian Love Story (Jiska Rickels, producer Dieptescherpte BV), Beyond the Game (Jos de Putter, producer Dieptescherpte BV), Oblivion (El Olvido, Heddy Honigmann, producer Cobos Films), Dear Oprah: Non – Voting America’s Wildest Dream (Kasper Verkaik, producer Submarine), The Unforbidden City (Floris-Jan van Luyn, producer Submarine), Home Recordings (Mari Soppela, producer LPMA Productions) and Dutch co-production Double Take(Johan Grimonprez, co-producer Volya Films).

Hot Docs will present Another Perfect World (Femke Wolting and Jorien van Nes, producer Submarine), Bloody Mondays & Strawberry Pies (Coco Schrijber, producer Bonanza Films), Boris Ryzhy (Aliona van der Horst, producer Zeppers Film & TV), Carmen Meets Borat (Mercedes Stalenhoef, producer Pieter van Huystee Film), Diary of a Times Square Thief (Klaas Bense, producer Eyeworks Egmond Film and Television), Episode 3 – Enjoy Poverty (Renzo Martens, producer Renzo Martens Menselijke Activiteiten / Peter Kruger - Inti Films), Oblivion (El Olvido, Heddy Honigmann, producer Cobos Films), Rembrandt’s J’Accuse (Peter Greenaway, producer Submarine) and Sweety: the Friends, Betrayal and Murder of Maja Bradaric (Menna Laura Meijer, producer Pieter van Huystee Film).
