Black Butterflies Golden Film

Dutch feature film BLACK BUTTERFLIES, directed by Paula van der Oest, has reached the status of Golden Film for more than 100.000 tickets sold, after its theatrical release in the Netherlands on March 31, 2011. 

The Golden/Platinum/Diamond Film Award is an initiative presented by the Netherlands Film Festival  and the Netherlands Film Fund since 2001. The prize is intended to encourage the Dutch film industry and motivate the general public to go and see Dutch films. The total number of tickets sold after a film’s release determines whether a prize is awarded.

BLACK BUTTERFLIES is produced by IDTV Film, in  co-production with Cool Beans en Comet Film (Germany), Riba Film International (Netherlands) and Spier Productions (South-Africa). The film was made with financial support from Dutch Film Fund, NTR, CoBO-fund and the South African Department of Trade and Industry. The film is distributed in the Netherlands by A-Film.
