Life in One Day at Rome Film Festival 2009
Dutch feature film LIFE IN ONE DAY selected by International Rome Film Festival
Life in One Day by first-time feature film director Mark de Cloe has been selected for the official program of the International Rome Film Festival. The film, which is based on the novel "Het leven uit een dag" by Dutch writer A.F. Th. van der Heijden, will be part of the festivals’ EXTRA section with highly original and innovative features. The festival will take place from October 15 - 23, 2009.
Director Mark de Cloe, who is known for his award winning short films False Waltz and Boy Meets Girl Stories, can be considered an important Dutch film talent. De Cloe was awarded various international prizes, including the Prix de Rome, a Rockie Award and an Emmy Award nomination. In 2006 the International Rome Film Festival nominated De Cloe for "most promising director".
With his unique design of Life in One Day Mark de Cloe certainly impressed the programmers of the Rome Film Festival and joins a.o. Thomas Wittenberg, James Marsch and Louise Michel who previously starred in the festivals’ EXTRA section.
Life in One Day starts in a world where a human life only lasts one day. In this world, Benny and Gini have fallen in love, but for them one day is not enough. They try to escape by fleeing to hell: a place where they can love each other for ever. But this escape is not without danger. Will they see each other ever again?
Dutch actress Lois Dols de Jong (18) is making her feature film debut as Gini. Benny is played by Dutch national known actor Matthijs van de Sande Bakhuyzen. Life in One Day has been produced by René Huybrechtse from Dutch Mountain Movies (SHOUF SHOUF HABIBI and THE PREACHER) in co-production with Dutch national broadcaster NPS Television.
Life in One Day can be seen in cinema’s throughout the Netherlands from September 3, 2009.
