The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) is the world's largest documentary film festival held annually since 1988 in Amsterdam.

The objective of the IDFA is to promote creative documentaries and to present them to a wide audience. From a small festival it grew out to an 11-day festival, with more than 200 documentary screenings and nearly 120,000 visitors. Apart from its international film program, the festival also hosts debates, forums and workshops.

IDFA selects documentary films and videos. Films must be submitted in their original language with English subtitles. Entries must have been produced during the 15 months before festival and must not have been previously screened or broadcasted in the Netherlands.

Festival Dates: 16 – 27 November, 2011
Entry Deadline:
1 May 2011 for documentaries completed between 1 August 2010 and 1 April 2011.
1 August 2011 for documentaries completed after 1 April 2011.
