by first-time feature director Esther Rots has been awarded the Fipresci Prize at the 8th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival in Cluj, Romania. The Fipresci Prize is offered by the International Federation of Film Critics to promote film-art and to encourage new and young cinema.

Esther Rots’ debut film Can go through skin premiered during the last edition of the International Film Festival in Berlin (5 – 15 February 2009) as part of the "Forum" program. In May 2009 the film was selected for the 38th edition of New Directors/New Films, one of the premier international showcases for the work of emerging filmmakers from around the world, presented by The Museum of Modern Art and The Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York.
